Murillo holds an undergraduate degree in geoscience and a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Her doctoral work focused on data sharing and reuse within large scientific data cyberinfrastructures. Following her Ph.D., she worked as a Research and Development Information Scientist at Novozymes. Currently, Murillo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University-Indianapolis and is the Program Director for the Applied Data and Information Science Program.
