Jarek Nabrzyski is the Associate Vice President for Research, Special Initiatives at Notre Dame Research, where his portfolio includes the Notre Dame Quantum Initiative, AI and high-performance computing infrastructure strategy, and advising research centers and institutes on strategy. He is also a Senior Advisor and Director Emeritus of the Center for Research Computing (CRC), which he led for 17 years, a Research Professor of IT, Analytics, and Operations, and a Concurrent Professor of Computer Science and Engineering.

He is a co-Principal Investigator of NSF CI Compass, the NSF Cyberinfrastructure Center of Excellence supporting NSF Major Facilities. He has been deeply involved in university–industry collaborations throughout his career, including two NSF Industry–University Cooperative Research Centers: the Center for Quantum Technologies (CQT), which he co-directs, and the Cyber SMART Center, where he served as Center Executive Director.

Nabrzyski has collaborated with a broad range of scientific communities, such as astrophysics, polar and environmental sciences, physics, biomedical sciences, engineering, social sciences, and the humanities. He has experience in evaluating third-party infrastructures and has been involved in testing and evaluation activities for IARPA programs.

His research focuses on trust and privacy in complex computing systems, data and AI model provenance, and human-centered technologies. His current work centers on AI-assisted communication tools for patients with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD), autism, and Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. His research is funded by ARPA-H, NIH, and NSF.
