NSF NCAR AI Community Engagement Workshops

Location: Virtual

From NSF NCAR:

Help Shape the Future of AI for Earth System Science

NSF NCAR is hosting a series of community engagement workshops this spring to gather input on how NSF NCAR can advance AI and machine learning in Earth system science with and for the community. We want to hear from researchers, educators, students, and partners about your priorities, needs, and ideas.

Your input will be crucial for determining how NSF NCAR develops and stewards AI capabilities, tools, data, and training for the broader community. We aim to understand how best to support you, identify existing gaps, and pinpoint the most promising opportunities.

About the Workshops

We are hosting twelve 90-minute workshops on six topics across the weeks of April 20 and April 27, 2026. Each topic is offered twice to accommodate various schedules.

These are open to all Earth system science and solar community researchers, educators, students, and partners. You may attend as many sessions as you like, including repeating a topic or joining multiple topics.

Please register by 5:00 PM MST, April 15th. If you are interested in a topic but cannot attend either scheduled session, please inform us by messaging ncarai@ucar.edu. If needed, we will offer additional sessions in May.

Sessions will be a mix of short presentations and opportunities for input in breakout rooms.

Registration: To attend, please register using this form. After completing the registration form, you will receive a Zoom link for your selected session(s).
