Abstract:

The NSF CI Compass Fellowship Program (CICF) is a distinctive program aimed at broadening undergraduate student participation in cyberinfrastructure (CI) research, development, and operations. During the summer of 2026, our CICF Student Fellows took part in the CICF Summer Program where they worked on data lifecycle and cyberinfrastructure projects with the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS), National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (MagLab), NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), NSF Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI), and University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center/NSF National Ecological Observatory Network (UNDERC/NEON),

For this virtual symposium, the CICF Student Fellows will present their summer research projects, including a description of the purpose of their project, technical details of their project, and what they learned from their project.
